The University of Rhode Island Design & Dev

February 2012

While attending the University of Rhode Island and working as a junior web developer I had the unique opportunity to lead the university’s conversion from static HTML pages to WordPress as their CMS of choice. To coincide with this I was given relatively free reign to design a new URI.edu website by way of a WordPress parent theme and child theme (to be used by each college). Both themes utilized Advanced Custom Fields to create options panels which allow individual colleges to swap out basics such as logos, contact info, and social media handles. Both themes were built to be mobile friendly with full responsiveness. The University ultimately named me a “Big Thinker” (May 2012) as a result of my contributions.
