Overview

North Sails is the world’s leading sailmaker, with lofts and customers on every continent. From February 2016 to February 2018 I was Web Program Manager and the lead designer and developer of northsails.com, along with related North Technology Group properties.

The main site was a multilingual WordPress build serving a global audience of more than 1.5 million pageviews a year, in English, Italian, Spanish, German, and French.

What I worked on

Design and development. Templates, navigation, and page design across the site — from sail types and racing classes to education guides, stories, and the loft finder.

E-commerce groundwork. An early e-commerce portal built for 1,000+ products across 30+ price regions, which had only a limited rollout before I left.

Content, SEO, and UX. Content management across languages, search optimization, and ongoing UI/UX optimization.

Infrastructure and integrations

I also managed the servers behind these properties (CentOS, WHM, and cPanel) and handled Salesforce management and integration.
